Mind your fingers
The smartphones can be too smart for your own good at times. Once, when I was using iPhone, I despised the autocorrect function. Took me longer time to text since I have to correct the autocorrect. How ironic... Thus I disabled the autocorrect function. Abis cerita.

With Blackberry, there is some function of autocorrect but minimal. Anyway, kind of irritating when it happens.
eg
Usually I used shortforms like hr for hari, and the phone suka2 hati corrected it to hour.
At other times I used mn for mana. And of course, the BB could not tolerate so mn was changed to minute.
And yang paling tak boleh tahan, I am known as kak teh among my younger brothers and mak teh among my nieces and nephews. So, whenever I want to type kak teh or mak teh in my text message, the BB changed it to 'kak the' or 'mak the'. What the heck betul la kan...

Sometime ago, a friend shared  her own typo story in FB. And it was very funny. Here's the story:

"Tadi saya tulis mesej pada seseorang yang disegani. Nak cakap yg saya dah ter call dia secara tak sengaja. Sepatutnya bunyi gini.. 'maaf ****, saya tertekan phone tadi. Tak berniat nak call'. Tapi nasib tak baik saya tertulis..'maaf ****, saya tertelan phone tadi. Tak berminat nak call'. Si polan balas 'are u ok? Tertelan phone is very serious!'

Ha ha.... I laughed out lout when I first read the story sampaikan my kids pun pelik. And I laughed again when I typed this just now.

Well, typo is one thing. Sent to the wrong person was another thing.
Once, I meant to bbm my hubby who was stuck in the office due to work. So I bbm this 'Lmbt ke balik? Tak masak tadi'.
Then the red alert of incoming message flashed. I thought it was my hubby replying but instead Hemy (high school friend) yang reply, 'So, nak suh aku msk ke?'
Ha ha... Of all people, I wrongly sent the message to her yang memang diketahui kekerapan dia masuk ke dapur amat sedikit.
That's what happened when you have several chat history in bbm...

Lessons learnt. Not only you have to spell-it-right, you also need to mind your fingers.
Talking about smartphones, the Samsung range of phones macam best je... (mode berangan nak tukar henfon baru...)
My number 5 is 1
My youngest daughter celebrated her first birthday earlier this month. Sekejap je dah setahun. We had a simple celebration with the family that day with this angry bird birthday cake.

And red velvet cuppies.

And since it was a Saturday, we made a trip to National Science Center.
Mannn.... I supposed all great minds think alike that day. The place was packed. Finding a parking space was almost impossible. Thus, we illegal parked by the roadside.

The Dino park at the entrance.
The Center features Dinosaur live show at that time.

However, we were warned that the queue to buy tickets was very long so we settled for the ordinary admission tickets i.e. the usual exhibition stuff.
More people inside. Honestly, could not really appreciate the exhibition with all the crowd. However, since it was indoor, and air-conditioned, not so bad la.. Initially, the kids suggested Zoo Negara. But considering the massive heat wave that we are experiencing at the moment, we strike off Zoo.

This is funny. It shows you your weight if you are on the sun or the other planets. Scary tengok the numbers. Overweight to the max! Ha ha...
Lunch at one of the stalls inside the Center.
The view from the eating place. There are a couple of buildings which feature more exhibition. And there's a swimming pool. We did not venture into those buildings and the kids were frustrated that they couldn't get themselves wet in the pool.

The birthday celebration continued that night. We had dinner outside.

Oh yes... my daughter received this bicycle for her birthday.

She still doesn't know how to cycle yet (well... berjalan pun belum boleh lagi), but she enjoyed the bicycle very much. Her older sister enjoyed it too.

Her sisters love to push her round and round the house.

But we try not to allow that so often, nanti dia lagi malas nak belajar berjalan. But I kinda like the bicycle for my own reasons. My daughter will eventually fall asleep on the bicycle.

And that made mommy's work a tad easier. :)
Selamat Hari Guru
Favret betul time tu.

Masa tu, pergi sekolah, tak payah pakai uniform. So boleh melaram pakai baju biasa je. Satu hari tu, aku pakai skirt yang agak lawa la jugak.:P Masa nak balik macam biasa tunggu van arwah Pak Ngah kat kantin sekolah.
Selamat Hari Guru.

Masa sekolah rendah, sekolah yang sama jugak, Methodist Girls School, Raub. Tak ingat darjah berapa tapi fobia betul dengan subjek Inggeris. Sebab setiap minggu cikgu akan tanya what did you do last week. Public speaking memang suatu benda yang menakutkan masa tu, lagi pulak in English. So tiap-tiap minggu, stress pikir apa benda nak cerita and nak arrange ayat untuk cerita. Satu minggu tu, kebetulan aku memang ada benda nak cerita sebab minggu sebelum tu aku pergi rumah kawan aku (dia duduk sebelah aku masa kat kelas). So, bila sampai turn aku, aku pun cerita la. Bila cikgu tau aku pegi rumah kawan aku tu, dia terus tanya kawan aku tu rumah dia kat mana etc etc etc.

Mintak maaf cikgu kerana menyelongkar locker cikgu. Selamat Hari Guru.

Sebelum masuk matrikulasi, sempat Tingkatan Enam sekejap. Sekolah Menengah Mahmud Raub.
Selamat Hari Guru.

Masuk matrikulasi, tahun pertama kat Sekolah Muzaffar Syah Melaka. 'Azlina!! Tidur??!!' Adoiihh... terkejut + malu + terus segar tak berani nak tidur dah.
Terima kasih cikgu di atas segala tunjuk ajar. Selamat Hari Guru.

Matrikulasi tahun kedua kat Pusat Matrikulasi Kuala Pilah. Subjek yang paling disukai English & Fizik, English sebab senang nak score, Fizik sebab cikgu dia kelakar yang amat. Ada satu hari tu cikgu Fizik tu tengah mengajar. Alih-alih dengar lori sampah lalu kat tepi kelas. Laa... dia kata, lori sampah... tapi betul la, bau macam roti canai. Gelak besor kitorang satu kelas.
Terima kasih cikgu sebab menceriakan kelas Fizik walaupun Fizik susah yang amat nak score. Selamat Hari Guru.

Masuk universiti, masa tahun pertama kat Bangi. Selain daripada kursus-kursus wajib, kena ambik jugak kursus-kursus elektif. Salah satu kursus elektif yang aku ambik, Asas Pengurusan Perniagaan. Tapi sekarang, satu hapah apa pun aku tak ingat apa benda yang aku belajar dulu.
Terima kasih kepada pensyarah yang mengajar. Selamat Hari Guru.

Then tahun kedua sampai tahun keempat, pindah ke UKM kampus KL. Masa tahun 3, boleh pulak kena chicken pox. Kena pulak minggu depannya exam. Terpaksa la ambik MC and tak dapat hadir exam. Sure tension jugak lecturer masa tu sebab nak kena prepare set soalan yang lain and nak cari masa buat exam untuk aku sorang. Dah jadi lecturer macam sekarang, baru tau macam mana susahnya nak prepare soalan exam. Tu la... masa kecik-kecik tak nak kena chicken pox. Dah besar menyusahkan orang.
Terima kasih kepada semua pensyarah. Selamat Hari Guru.

Dah abis degree, disebabkan kerja pun susah nak dapat, sambungla buat Masters then PhD. Masa tu jugak la nak kawin, mengandung bagai.
Selamat Hari Guru.

Selamat Hari Guru.
Babysitters FOC
I had to go to Seremban recently for a 3D2N workshop. It was held from Sunday until Tuesday. Since it was held during weekdays, it was difficult for hubby to go along. There are lot of things going-on in his office and he could not afford to take leave. And I, on the other hand, do not have the heart to leave my little baby who is still breastfeeding.

So, I proposed a suggestion to hubby... well.... actually, I forced the suggestion on him.. ha ha... The plan was, all of us going, hubby riding his motorcycle while I drive the car. The kids had to ponteng sekolah. Hubby will still go to the office riding his motorcycle and travel back to the hotel after work. Melampau kan suggestion ni.. But this is the only way so that I can still have my baby with me. And it's not unusual for people who stay in Seremban to commute to KL for work. :)

The hotel that we went to: Royale Bintang Resort and Spa. Previously known as Hilton then changed to Royal Adelphi and now Royale Bintang.

The room.

The view from the room. Stadium Tuanku Abdul Rahman ke ni? Don't know for sure.
The pool.

During the day, while I attended the workshop, the older kids babysit the baby. And they were marvelous at it. And free-of-charge. I only received one emergency call when the little sister poo-pooed. The rest of the calls were considered minor.

But was it really FOC? Hubby and I had to stock up lots of food in the room to keep them full and we had to let them bring all the gadgets to keep them occupied. :P

More than 'play-play'
This is how I exploited the use of Blackberry playbook :):
To ensure she will be occupied when traveling so that mummy can doze off for a while (or more time for FBing).

To entertain herself while mummy busy with house chores (or FBing again).

To ensure she would be obedient and finish her meal faster so that mummy can clear all the dishes in the sink (or again more time for FB).

To put her to sleep so that mummy can finish off ironing and what nots (or of course, FBing). ;P

The treasure called friends
We made friends wherever we go. But no doubt, we may make enemies as well. Of course, we try to avoid making enemies and treasure the friends that we meet. This is a tale of friends I met along my life, doing the activity we love best: EAT!!

Intan Zubaidah is a friend from high school. She was one of those who came in during Form 4, or commonly referred to as budak Form 4 baru.:) The newcomers were grouped in a different class and thus we did not mix together much. And frankly, the feelings of hostile and berlagakness sebab kira macam senior kat sekolah tu did exist.:P Anyhow, during Form 5, the classes were revamped and Intan happened to be in the same class as me. Analogically, we 'struck gold' together. We had the most wonderful treasure of memories: from sharing jokes, to sharing stories about boys, to sharing knowledge and to sharing the ridiculous gila-gila moments or what we used to say as 'tolol'. Not to mention the race to the dining hall for supper after night prep.

Recently, Intan who is currently residing in Kulim, came to Bangi. And we made a date to meet. We went for lunch at Red Wok Restaurant. Highly recommended by other friends who have previously dine there.

Intan brought her daughter along, who has a very unique and long name. Intan Andrea Khadijah.

I had this dish: rice with beef cooked with basil leaves. Not bad... Caution! Ada petai.
I also ordered this, fried chicken wings with thai sauce. Sedap...
Intan shared this dish with her daughter, nasi goreng kampung. The portion is enough for 2-3 people.
Intan also ordered this vege dish, spinach with soup. Simple dish but so yummy. I'm impressed to see Andrea eating the spinach. I was thinking of my kids yang tak makan vege.

And finally, we had this dessert of jackfruit and water chestnut. Memang sedap...

I parted with Intan with the promise too meet again whenever she came to KL/Selangor in future. Her 'gila-gila' antic from the school days surfaced when she said this as she was about to close the car's door  'Kejap..kejap... nak tengok muka you puas-puas...' Ha ha...

After school, I went for matriculation. The first year of matriculation was in Muzaffar Syah School in Melaka. I met Norharlina there (ok.... I met my husband there too...:)). We have quite a number of Linas in that matric year. Myself, Norharlina, Norhaslina and Nurhajarlina. Luckily, Norharlina has a different nickname (Mona) and so does Nurhajarlina (Hajar). I developed a new nickname thus differentiating myself from Norhaslina was made easier. Well, Norhaslina was fondly known as Lina Hassan anyway since later on, memang ramai betul Lina-Lina ni...:)

Again, I struck gold with Mona. Even though Mona was ex-TKCian and considered musuh rasmi STF, we never had any dispute about our alma mater during our friendship. Few months ago, before she went for her hajj, we met for lunch. She was the one sitting in front yang tersengih ala kanak-kanak riang itu. Memang sesuai dengan her role as child psychiatrist. The one sitting besides her is Nora. Mona's ex-schoolmate and we were together during 2nd year of matriculation in Kuala Pilah. The one sitting besides me is Rahanawati, my colleague (but different department). She met Mona in Australia during her study leave.

We had our lunch at De Warung, somewhere near HUKM.
I had this fish and rice dish. Lemon fish ke apa ntah. Lupa dah.
We shared this otak-otak dish. Anyhow, we had an unpleasant experience with the otak-otak. But the company override the unpleasantness.

We also ordered these dishes. Seriously, lupa dah makan apa hari tu.

During the 2nd year of matriculation in Kuala Pilah, I make more friends. And I survived my degree with some of these friends, namely Zakiah (lovingly known as Jackie) and Siti Fatimah (lovingly known as Timeh).  And to make it even sweeter, these friends are now my colleagues, but different departments though. We have a long years of memories together: in the same matriculation, in the same course, renting the same house (masa zaman bujang) and now working in the same faculty.

We had lunch recently, at Secret Recipe.

 I had Tom Yam Kung.

Jackie & Timeh had this fried rice. Bukan kongsi, tapi sepinggan sorang. I have to stress this so that I won't be seen as kuat makan....keh keh keh....

Can't remember what drink was this.

And chocolate banana cake.

And here I am now, Alhamdulillah, working, after years of studying. I'm blessed to have colleagues with whom I can share stories about work, staffs, office politics etc etc etc. Anisah works in a different department but we happened to be involved in coordinating one of the modules in the faculty. Anisah, being a veterinarian, also heads the Animal Unit in the faculty and are in the same animal ethics committee with Timeh.

Believe it or not, after years of being colleagues, this was our first lunch date. Well, lunch sama-sama masa meeting tu tak kira la kan. We had lunch at Madam Kwan of KLCC.
I had this curry laksa.

And soya cincau. The unique feature is, they prepare the drink without sugar and they provide us with sugar in the form of liquid, so we can add on to the drink secukup rasa.

Anisah had char kuey teow.

Timeh had prawn noodle or something.

For dessert, we had banana fritters with ice-cream. Totally sedapp.... And cendol.

I feel very rich having these people as my friends. Priceless treasure indeed. Now, how I wish to meet up with friends from primary school pulak...:)
